School Update !

The Islamic academy of San Antonio is proud to announce that during the first 3 weeks of registration in the month of April, 2007, the number of students that have already registered for the full time school for the year 2007-2008 is 70 so far. This number is only 8 students short of the projected capacity for the next year.

Over 70 students have already registered so far at IASA. If necessary, IASA will open additional classes/sections IASA has purchased 4 portable buildings to be used as classes for the next 4-5 years.

Now IASA will have the space and facility to accommodate school expansions. These buildings should be on the ICSA Property in the last half of June 2007.

Even though some of the lower grades are already full, IASA will be taking applications and will have a waiting list for new student registrations. If the number of students in a waiting list for a particular class is sufficient, IASA will consider opening a second class/section. This cannot happen at the beginning of the school year, so it is recommended to all interested parents to enroll their children ASAP. Classes are filled on a FCFS (first come first served) basis. Please contact IASA Principal, Brother Musa Sadek for more information.

Culture Day at IASA
On Thursday, April 26th it was culture day at IASA. Students of the Islamic academy came to school wearing the traditional clothes of their countries of origin. While the Masjid area was decorated with traditional items from several countries, flags decorated the ceilings, and delicious foods decorated tables outside. After performances from the students and a tour of the traditional settings, everyone enjoyed the varieties of the foods then it was followed by the piñatas for the kids.
